When it comes to the safety and the crash indicators, the studies in Virginia Tech Transportation Institute revealed that the experience of the truck drivers outweighs the age.

The study is called “Commercial Driver Safety Risk Factors” and sponsored by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

The study especially shows that the age of the truck drivers is an important factor, however the number of crashes and the risk involved in it depends on the experience of the driver.

The average age for the typical truck driver remains 46 for the industry and moreover, the age group is increasing so that the more workforce is going to retirement.
