DOT provided CDL, CLP and non-CDL drivers, that transport goods in response to the National Emergency, with a waiver which provides relief from FMCSRs. Which means that they are subject to the following extensions and waivers:

- All CDLs and CLPs due for renewal on or after March 1, 2020 are extended until June 30, 2020; without requiring CLP drivers to take general and endorsement knowledge tests;

- CDL holders, CLP holders, and non-CDL drivers can work without medical examination and certification if their previous one has expired on or after March 1, 2020;

This waiver is subject to all US state-issued CDL, CLP holders and non-CDL drivers. FMCSA continues to recognize the validity of driver’s licenses issued by Canadian provinces and United Mexican states, unless they issue a similar notice or declaration.For more information visit:https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/sites/fmcsa.dot.gov/files/2020-03/FMCSA%20CDL%20Waiver-3.24.20.pdf
